Agenda: 2020 General Gynecologic Surgeons: 3-Day Course with Lab

 
Didactic & Suture Training, Thursday-Friday, May 28 – 29, 2020

This 2 day course, without the cadaver lab, will focus on learning TLH techniques and advanced general laparoscopic procedures with the latest technology, using videos, didactics and pelvic trainers. Surgeons will learn multiple techniques for vaginal, bowel and bladder closures.

Early Registration is on Wednesday, May 27; at 6:00 pm, there will be a Welcome Reception and Suture Cafe.

    Cadaver dissections

    7:30am Breakfast opens  
    8:00am Required Lab Briefing  
    9:00am General Gynecology Cadaver Lab  
     
    • Open retroperitoneum, paravesical, pararectal spaces
    • Identify intraperitoneal and retroperitoneal landmarks

    All surgeons will perform:

    • Total laparoscopic hysterectomy
    • Appendectomy
    • Create 2cm cystotomy and close it
    • Laparoscopic cystoscopy to check closure—identify each ureter
    • Open the parametrium near the uterine artery and find the ureter
    • Isolate the uterosacral ligament for colposuspension
    • Uterosacral ligament plications
    • Open space of Retzius to perform Burch Suspension with CT-1 Vicryl (Ethibond or mesh in real surgery)

    1:00pm Lab resumes with objectives from morning session  
    4:00pm Adjourn
